and we're moving the venue to a bigger & better place (that's what the Rib-Off is all about, right? Bigger & Better?)!
That's right! This year's contest will be held at The Happy Harbor Marina on Marina Road in beautiful Orange Beach, Alabama!
We're making plans for the biggest, most fun contest ever with live music, games of skill and plenty of Whiskey, Beer, Women & Cigars!
By the way, Alabama will be at Mississippi State in Starkville that weekend and Auburn will be playing Georgia in Athens so everybody can attend The Rib-Off!

A NOTE FOR ALL OF OUR "NEW" COMPETITORS...
For the past 25 years, the Rib-Off was simply an opportuniity for a bunch of like-minded rednecks to get together, cook BBQ, drink whiskey, smoke cigars, listen to country music and look at pretty women!
Honestly, nobody really cared who cooked the best ribs, they just wanted to blow off a little steam and have some fun!
Now, that the Rib-Off has evolved into a sure-nuff, for real, BBQ cooking contest, things are obviously going to have to be a little different, especially when it comes to the rules!
The thing that I hope y'all can understand is that the Rib-Off has a history. We're not necessarily proud of ALL of that history, but it's our history nonetheless!
So...the question is, how do we hang on to the past without confusing you folks that are just now joining us?
If you take the time to look, you will se that this website is slam-full of stories (most of which are highly exagerated!), pictures (some of which werent' even taken at actual Rib-Off events!) and rules, regulations and such (most of which were written as a joke and were NEVER actually enforced!).
Obviously we want this website to be a source of accurate information for those of you who are seriously competing and are trying to win the prizes, so I am trying to find a delicate balance between the information that you need and the Bulls**t that makes up most of this website.
